신윤지의 개인전 《Guess who I am!》은 기법 중심의 작업에서 서사적으로 확장되는 작가의 전환점을 보여준다. 슬립캐스팅을 기반으로 한 정교한 제작 방식은 곡선의 흐름과 동화적 이미지와 결합하며, 감정과 이야기를 담아내는 구조로 확장된다. 열기구, 바퀴, 다리, 마차 등 독립된 요소들이 블록처럼 맞물려 유년의 동화 속 장면을 불러내고 관람객의 기억과 상상을 각자의 방식으로 재구성하게 한다. 이러한 가변성은 슬립캐스팅과 모듈 몰드 기법을 반복 생산의 방식이 아니라 조합과 확장이 가능한 구조로 다루는 작가의 태도에서도 드러난다. 《Guess who I am!》은 치밀하게 계획된 제작 과정의 기법적 설계와 감정적 서사, 장난감 같은 가벼움과 공예의 정교함 사이에서 신윤지가 자신만의 작업 방식을 구축해 가는 과정을 압축한다. 그의 도자는 단단한 흙으로 만든 가벼운 상상이다. 이 상상은 현실에서 벗어나기 위한 환상이 아니라, 삶을 조금 더 즐겁게 감각하기 위한 하나의 방식으로 우리 앞에 제시된다.

SHIN Yunji’s solo exhibition Guess who I am! marks a turning point in which the artist’s practice moves beyond a technique-driven approach toward a more narrative expression. The meticulous production method based on slip-casting merges with flowing curves and fairy-tale imagery, forming structures that carry emotion and stories. Discrete elements—hot-air balloons, wheels, bridges, and carriages—interlock like blocks, evoking scenes from childhood stories and inviting viewers to piece together memories and imaginations of their own. This sense of variability emerges through SHIN’s use of slip-casting and modular molds, which she treats not as methods of manufacturing production, but as structural systems open to recombination and expansion. Guess who I am! encapsulates the process through which SHIN develops her own way of working, bringing together meticulously planned technical design with emotional narrative, and the precision of craft with toy-like lightness. Her ceramics give solid clay the weightlessness of imagination. This imagination is presented not as a fantasy of escape, but as a way of perceiving life with greater joy.
